Event overview
This event brings together national, public and private junior and senior high schools, international schools, preschools and major cram schools that are involved in international education, both domestic and international, to introduce various educational curricula, educational trends and consultations on higher education, as well as the latest trends in the entrance examination system, The latest trends in the examination system will be introduced through booths and seminars. In addition, at the Tokyo venue, workshops will be held to develop children’s problem-solving and non-cognitive skills, and panel discussions will be held, with many representatives of today’s hot schools, experts in returnee and bilingual education and entrance examinations, entrepreneurs active on the front lines of business, and educational influencers taking the stage. We look forward to welcoming parents, educators and media representatives interested in bilingual education, identity education and the development of human resources (parenting) needed by an international society.

Panel discussions
▶ Hiroo Gakuen, Director of Overseas University Affairs, Mr Akihiro Ozawa.
After working as a writer for a newspaper in the US, he worked for Benesse Corporation for 15 years, including as the headmaster of Route H, a school with a high track record of students entering top overseas universities. He also gives lectures on overseas universities at schools, cram schools and public institutions nationwide. He is co-author of ‘The Bible for Entrance Exams to Top Universities in the United States’ (PHP Research Institute).
▶ Ms Mayu Hagiwara, Curator of Education and Study Abroad Counsellor
She preaches that presenting choices in education, parenting and careers fosters an individual’s capacity for self-determination. Her blog has been well received by parents raising children, who say it helps them to take a broader view of their children’s and their own present and future. She studied at an international school in Japan and a boarding school in the USA. Graduated from the Faculty of Education, University of Tokyo. Mother of two primary schools children. Hobbies include school visits, visiting bookshelves and walking along the waterfront.
▶ Ms Cynthia Usui, who has experience as a housewife and childcare provider, as well as in business management.
Born in the Philippines. After graduating from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, worked for two years in a trading company. Spent 20 years in five countries. After returning to Japan, she worked part-time as an assistant manager at a foreign-affiliated hotel, and later became an executive at a foreign-affiliated beverage manufacturer and the Japanese representative of a foreign-affiliated hotel chain before moving to the IT industry at the age of 63. Her books include How My Daughter, Who Passed Harvard, Yale and Princeton, Was Raised (KADOKAWA).
▶ Mr Chimuko, influencer of home English practice.
An active mum who works with her four-year-old son in English at home, she has 25,000 followers on X (formerly Twitter). She organises the Nagoya Playdate Kai (NPD), a community for families with English at home, with more than 130 families participating, mainly in the Tokai region. She transmits information on a daily basis on X, focusing not only on English but also on exploration activities and other matters related to children’s education.
▶ Ms Noriko Kato, Editor-in-Chief of the educational information website Risemam.
Born in Kyoto, Japan, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Tokyo in 1996. Joined Kokusai Telegraph and Telephone (now KDDI). Later moved to the United States. Since returning to Japan, she has reported and written for various media, including the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry’s Future Classroom and NewsPicks, focusing on the field of education, including junior high school entrance exams, children’s mental health and overseas university entrance. Her first self-authored book, ‘The 100 Best Parenting Tips’ (Diamond Inc.), became a bestseller with 170,000 copies sold.
