Clients’ testimonials

Here are some of the comments we have received from students and parents.

A-level exam prep

This is a student who contacted us last-minute for Maths tutoring, just two months before the A-level exam.

He devoted to football at boarding school and didn’t put much effort into his studies. However, he realised that he wouldn’t be able to meet the offer from the university if he didn’t do anything, so he started revising just before the exam.

Parents’ voice

It seems like he got along well with the tutor in charge, and when he came back for the holidays, he was happy that it was so easy to understand that he was able to understand things that he had been confused about. Actually, his teacher at school introduced him a British tutor, but we were lucky to have a tutor from Moi Education.

I recommended to my friend as well bacause my son was saying that it would have been even better if he had started earlier. For him, being taught in both English and Japanese, made him underatand better.

It was a short-term support but he was successfully accepted into his first choice university. Anyone can improve their grades as long as they learn the techniques to solve exam questions. Also, having a bilingual teacher teach the student using their native language, was another key factor in improving his understanding.

IELTS prep

This is a student who is preparing for IELTS in order to enter a UK university. Since he is considering medical school, he plans to move to the UK after graduating from high school in Japan and complete A-levels before applying to university.

Parents’ voice

My son feels fulfilled and satisfied with each lesson. He has always lacked self-confidence, but after a few lessons with his teacher, he seems a lot more confident than before and I’m really happy about that.

International students submit IELTS scores as proof of their English language proficiency when enrolling at UK universities. It depends on the level of the university, but top universities require a score of 7.0 or higher. We will set goals based on the university you are aiming for.

A-level exam prep

We have been supporting this student since his first year of A-level course (Year 12).

He aims to study statistics at Imperial College London, and is taking lessons with us on Computer Sciences. His tutor is a current Imperial student who has completed the same A-level subjects, so acts as his senior.

We are also helping him with writing the Personal Statement required for UK university application. Since applicants are expected to engage in as many extracurricular activities as possible during summer after Year 12 and write about them in their personal statements, we suggested internships and research that would likely earn him high marks.

Parents’ voice

It seems like each class is fun and fulfilling. Above all, he feels satisfied that he is being taught by an Imperial student while receiving a variety of information.

What makes us special is that most of our tutors are currently studying at top UK universities. As in this student’s case, a senior who attends the school of his first choice will be in charge, or a tutor with a similar background will be assigned, so they can not only help academically, but also provide practical advice.

We suggest extracurricular activities and work experiences (research, competitions, etc.) related to the course the student is applying for.

IGCSE exam prep

This is a Year 11 student attending an international school outside Japan. We are teaching three IGCSE subjects: Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.

Her school follows British curriculum, so once she has completed her IGCSEs, she will study A-levels. In addition to teaching the subjects, we also provided advice on how to choose A-level subjects.

Parents’ voice

It seems like she was able to sit the test to the best of her ability.

It was really helpful for me as a parent, too, because I felt safe leaving everything to the table. Every time she takes a lesson, she says ‘I get answers to exactly what I wanted to know!’. I’m really glad to have had Moi Education as my daughter’s tutor.

A-level is a completely elective subject, and there are subjects that you must take depending on the department you are applying to. Therefore, it is important to choose subjects correctly.
