Having taken the A-level and UK difficult university physics entrance examinations, I am able to provide both subject and application guidance. I spent my junior high school years in Japan and progressed to a local high school in the UK. Having received an overseas education myself, I have gained experience overcoming the differences in language, culture, and study methods. Tutor’s comment

I have experience of applying to universities in three different countries – Japan, the United States and Canada – so I am able to meet a wide range of students’ needs. In addition, as there were not many students at my graduate school who were aiming to go to overseas universities, I will do my best to support and be there for students in a similar environment, offering guidance on entrance examinations, essay correction and brainstorming, and advice on extracurricular activities.

By junior high school, I had travelled to Australia, Singapore and Malaysia. In high school, in my first year I went to Birmingham, England, on a UK study tour to promote Japanese culture, and in my second year I hosted a host brother, this time helping to promote British culture! I am currently working in Manchester!

In high school, I was a member of the English club and spent my time with the motto ‘fun activities in English’; I was also captain of the club in my second year. At university, I obtained a teaching qualification and taught at my alma mater with a focus on the fundamentals.

Having lived abroad as a child, I have an interest in studying abroad and have studied at universities (& graduate schools) in the USA, the Netherlands and the UK. I worked as a professional in Japan and studied at Law School in the UK. In addition to teaching English in Japan for six years, I can also provide instruction in IELTS and Academic Writing. Having passed the highly competitive entrance exams for private junior high schools and top universities in Japan, I can also offer guidance on humanities subjects and career counseling in Japan.

Having personally struggled with learning English, and having taught students ranging from the lowest-ranking in their class to those entering top universities, I am confident in my ability to accurately identify each student’s challenges.
